The idea of environmental protection is, therefore, an inseparable responsibility of all employees in their daily work. This maxim has guided us for more than 20 years on our road to continuously improving our environmental efforts.
A company needs to have suitable structures in place if it wants to systematically implement environmental protection in its business activities.
At. B. Braun, we have introduced eco-management systems to document our environmental protection efforts.
In 1996, our Pharma Division in Melsungen, Germany was the first of our locations to be audited under the terms of "Council Regulation (EEC) No. 1836/93", allowing voluntary participation by companies in the industrial sector in a Community eco-management and audit scheme" (environmental audit or EMAS regulation).
Since then we have successively expanded our eco-management systems to additional production sites. We are proud that four facilities of the B. Braun Group in Germany (Melsungen, Berlin, Glandorf and Tuttlingen) have been received both the EMAS regulation and DIN EN ISO 14001 validation and certification
